As an Environmental Health Technical Officer you will work as part of a passionate Health Services team.
This role provides a great opportunity to take on a diverse role in a highly successful team working towards our team mission of "Preserving the environment, protecting the community and providing for a healthy tomorrow." You will support the Health Services team by: Being friendly, supportive and actively listen to the needs of others.
Working positively with people and can build strong relationships and are open to the opinions of others.
Setting challenging but realistic goals.
Reflect and learn from experiences and problem solve to get the job done.
You have a welcoming and respectful customer service disposition when dealing with both our internal and external customers.
Ability to "think outside the box" and be flexible in the delivery of services to meet our community's evolving expectations.
What can you bring to the team? A passion for public and environmental health and a desire to contribute to the health and wellbeing of our community.
Tertiary qualifications equivalent to, or significant progress toward completion in either Food Safety, Public Health, Health Science, Environmental Science.
Knowledge of scientific principles particularly regarding sample collection, analysis techniques and interpretation of data.
Knowledge of compliance inspection, education and enforcement processes (desirable).
Exceptional customer service skills and an ability to negotiate positive outcomes that benefit our community.
An ability to work effectively and add value to the team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The finer details This permanent full-time Level 4 (depending on skills and experience) position attracts a pro-rata salary range of $79,213– $85,172 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
