About the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine The Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine is a large, multi-disciplinary facility providing a comprehensive investigation and treatment service for a broad range of respiratory and sleep disorders within Austin Health and the wider community.
About the role Exciting position for a grade 1 or grade 2 scientist to join the Respiratory lab team on a fixed term (6 months) part time basis (8 hrs/week).
The position will primarily involve performing a range of respiratory function tests in a large tertiary laboratory setting.
A regular day will see you: Perform routine respiratory function tests as required.
Be involved in the conduct of an effective quality assurance program.
Participate in training, education and professional development programs for staff.
About you You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.
You'll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in: Significant knowledge and experience of respiratory physiology and lung function testing, including more complex tests.
Commitment to a high standard of patient care.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritising work to meet deadlines.
Able to work both independently and effectively in a team.
