Your New Role: Our client, a well-established specialist commercial construction company, is seeking an Estimator.
You will work on commercial construction projects including education and institutional.
Responsibilities: Independently develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for large-scale commercial construction projects.
Analyse project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine the scope and cost of work.
Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns, quantities, and project timelines.
Review and assess tender documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Conduct thorough cost analysis, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize project budgets.
Obtain and review quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
Negotiate terms and ensure that all subcontractor and supplier agreements are accurately reflected in the final estimate.
Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and provide updates on the status of estimates and proposals.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all estimation work, including calculations, assumptions, and bid proposals.
Prepare and present reports as required.
About you: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator with a focus on commercial projects.
Proven ability to independently manage and tender projects exceeding $10 million.
Previous experience tendering projects in the commercial sector.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
