About the Role Valley Sport (VS) is on the lookout for an experienced and visionary Executive Officer (EO) to lead our organisation into its next phase of growth and sustainability.
As the EO, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and operational performance of Valley Sport, ensuring our activities align with the strategic direction set by our Board of Directors.
Your role will be pivotal in setting and achieving ambitious goals for the long-term sustainability of Valley Sport while fostering a high-performing, engaged culture with our communities and funding partners.
What You Bring We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader with: Extensive experience and a proven track record in a senior management role, ideally within a not-for-profit organisation.
A deep understanding of state and federal funding landscapes, with the ability to navigate and leverage these effectively.
Strong ethical leadership, characterised by integrity, transparency, and accountability.
Strategic thinking abilities, with experience in driving innovation and fostering continuous improvement.
Robust financial management skills, including budget development and revenue stream identification.
Proficiency in modern communication and engagement strategies, with a demonstrated ability to enhance branding and advocacy efforts.
Excellent relationship-building skills with stakeholders, including community groups, government bodies, and businesses.
The successful candidate will either already reside within the Goulburn Valley region or be prepared to relocate to the Victorian Goulburn Valley region, integrating fully into the local community and addressing local issues effectively.
Who We Are Established in Shepparton in 1985, Valley Sport serves as the regional sports assembly for the Goulburn Valley area.
We are dedicated to building healthy, active, and connected communities through sport and recreation, addressing the evolving needs of our diverse local government areas, including Greater Shepparton City Council, Benalla Rural City, Mansfield Shire Council, Mitchell Shire Council, Moira Shire Council, Murrindindi Shire Council, and Strathbogie Shire Council.
