Full time ongoing position Salary range: $98,902 - $123,624 plus super plus salary packaging Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model About the role Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) are seeking an experienced Financial and Systems Accountant who will be responsible for the delivery of the financial accounting and cash management operations, ensuring the accuracy of accounting records and statutory compliance with a strong emphasis on process improvement.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, overseeing the delivery of accounts payable/receivable and treasury functions, performing month-end and year-end accounting duties, as well as providing reporting relating to Annual Financial Statements, Business Activity Statement, and Fringe Benefits Tax Returns.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you As our ideal candidate, you will possess: Extensive knowledge in delivering financial accounting services and systems, specifically with Tech One (mandatory).
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting standards, concepts, and policies – ideally gained within Victorian Public Sector (VPS).
Exceptional organisational skills to meet tight deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
Ability to review processes and implement changes in a timely manner.
Tertiary qualification in accounting (mandatory).
