The Financial Controller at Marnong Estate is responsible for ensuring the estate's financial success by leading all financial activities and holding the entire team accountable to financial goals.
Reporting to the GM and accountable to the Board of Directors, the Financial Controller will proactively deliver critical financial insights, enforce operational efficiency, and drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities: Proactive Accountability Consistently provide the GM and Board of Directors with insightful, data-driven reports that highlight financial performance, potential risks, and opportunities.
Hold the Executive Team accountable by regularly presenting key metrics, trends, and recommended actions to ensure financial objectives are met.
Deliver reports that go beyond numbers, offering meaningful analysis, possible solutions, and clear calls to action to support strategic decisions.
Direct, Open Communication Engage in open, honest debates with the GM and Board, fostering transparent conversations about the estate's financial health.
Communicate financial results and recommendations with clarity, ensuring no ambiguity or hesitation when delivering insights.

Growth Orientation Focus on generating revenue, improving return on investment (ROI), and eliminating inefficiencies across all operations.

Collaborate with department heads to optimise performance, ensuring financial decisions support business expansion, including the development of the new state-of-the-art winery.
Strategic Financial Leadership Develop financial strategies aligned with Marnong Estate's vision for long-term growth and sustainability.
Provide forward-looking financial forecasts and actionable plans to enhance profitability across multiple venues, including food and beverage, accommodation, and events.
Ensure the effective implementation of financial systems that support accurate reporting, cost control, and growth initiatives.
Deliver timely, accurate financial reports to the GM and Board, providing detailed analysis and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Regularly review operational costs, identifying opportunities to drive revenue and improve efficiency without focusing solely on cost-cutting.
Lead financial planning and forecasting efforts to support strategic decision-making and long-term financial stability.
System & Process Development Oversee the integration of financial systems with the estate's POS, RMS, and other technology platforms to streamline financial data management and improve reporting.
Continuously review and enhance financial processes, ensuring they align with best practices and support Marnong Estate's growth initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA/CA preferred).
Strong understanding of restaurant & hotel KPIs preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of senior financial leadership experience, ideally within hospitality, winery, or luxury estate environments.
Proven track record in delivering growth, improving ROI, and implementing financial systems that drive organisational efficiency.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage in honest, transparent discussions with executive leadership.
