Full-time or Part-time continuing Identified academic First Nations Australian Lecturer – Social Work and Policy Studies (Teaching and Research) position, located at the Camperdown campus in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, The University of Sydney This exciting Teaching and Research role is within the Sydney School of Education and Social Work and sits within the Social Work and Policy Studies discipline as a Lecturer (Level B) Base Salary Level B $122,830 p.a.
– $145,858 p.a.

This role focuses on embedding First Nations histories, cultural protocols and ways of doing, being and sharing knowledge into the Faculty's curricula and will provide key leadership in helping the University of Sydney achieve its ambitions under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Plan 2022-2024 and the University's One Sydney, Many People Strategy.

Your key responsibilities will be to: design and engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the University's expectations and standards for education, delivering outstanding teaching and learning outcomes for students develop teaching and subject materials, working with more senior academics within the University maintain relevant Work, Health and Safety requirements and management including laboratory and/or field work develop and refine your research skills through research and scholarly creative work, contribute to knowledge within your discipline or area of expertise contribute to the governance, leadership, and engagement work in your school.

As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for a First Nations Australian Lecturer in Social Work who has: Ph D or a nearly completed Ph D in a relevant academic field Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural competence ability to carry out quality research in social work provided outstanding research training (e.g.
honours/Ph D) deliver high quality teaching that effectively engages students in their learning a track record of submitting applications for funding for educational research and/or areas relevant to Social Work a record of excellent teaching, learning, and assessment practice in a tertiary environment, as evidenced through student and supervisor feedback proven experience in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives the capacity to engage students and enable a supportive, inclusive learning environment contributed to governance, leadership, and engagement within the School/University a developing network of relationships with key academic, industry or professional institutions partners and stakeholders a high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues including professional staff, and foster principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
