invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Food Technology Assistant, commencing in September 2024.
The duties of the Assistant include ordering and shopping for supplies, preparing practical classes and demonstrations, setting up before classes, cleaning and storing equipment after classes, safe food handling and storage, and ensuring that all equipment is in a good state of repair.
The successful candidate is:
Experienced in kitchen duties, preferably in an educational environment
Willing to work as part of a team (including another assistant working the other days of the week) and assist teachers and students
Available to work 2 days per week during school terms
Knowledgeable about Occupational Health & Safety requirements
Holds relevant qualifications including a Food Handlers Certificate e.g. ANTA (Australian National Training Authority) endorsed individual competency SITXFSA101 - Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety.
The standard working day is from 8:10 am to 4:15 pm.
Twelve weeks of annual leave, taken during school holidays, applies to this role (4 of these weeks are paid and 8 are unpaid).
