Located at the Faculty of Science in the Parramatta & Penrith offices Opportunity to provide professional psychological treatment (therapy) to clients experiencing gambling related challenges or harm Base Salary HEO 7 $108,557- $118,267 p.a.
(pro-rata) + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a Gambling Psychologist to be part of the Gamble Aware team, and will work within the guidelines of the operating policies of the Gamble Aware clinic and contribute to community engagement and outreach as well as clinical research and service delivery evaluation.
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct treatment of gambling related issues for gamblers and significant others impacted by gambling harm using initiatives and developing educational, outreach and clinical materials to be used by other clinicians.
This role will be required to vary the time between Gamble Aware locations in Penrith and Parramatta as well as outreach sites around the Katoomba/Blue Mountains region as required by the Clinic Manager and Director.
Your key responsibilities will be to: conduct psychological assessments and treatment for clients for gambling harm and any relevant comorbidities, as specified by the Clinic Director participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings to optimise client care participate in community engagement events to build links with key community stakeholders and to raise awareness of gambling harm in the community foster open communication and collaboration within the team, addressing stakeholder queries and concerns in a timely manner, while building trust within immediate work networks contribute to the achievement of clinic and team outcomes, by participating in projects, activities or tasks as specified by the Clinic Director.

As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for a Gambling Psychologist who has: a master's degree in Psychology a full and current registration in Australia as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia demonstrable understanding and experience in complying with Good Clinical Practice, regulatory, ethical, privacy, and other relevant guidelines experience in the provision of CBT experience in the treatment and assessment in the area of gambling (desirable) experience working with first nations clients and CALD communities (desirable) experience in community engagement activities (desirable).
