About Movember Movember is the leading organisation changing the face of men's health globally, taking on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate and testicular cancers. About the role The Global Director of Communications leads Movember's Communications team, within Marketing and Communications. The Communications team is responsible for strategy and delivery across earned channels (including press) and owned channels (including social media and marketing automation). As the Global Director of Communications, you will play a pivotal role in developing and overseeing the execution of our worldwide communication strategies. This position will be instrumental in advancing and defining several key objectives, including raising awareness about the significance of focusing on men's health and its positive impact on society. It also entails shaping public attitudes and garnering support for our policy goals, fostering understanding and affinity among our diverse stakeholders, both new and existing, to enhance Movember's reputation and influence as a frontrunner in the field of men's health. Moreover, the role encompasses spearheading our communication efforts in relation to our global impact and income efforts, thus contributing significantly to the achievement of our overarching mission. Some of your responsibilities will be: Responsible for creating, implementing, and measuring the success of Movember's global proactive and reactive communications strategy. Curate and drive Movember's organisational narrative, collaborating with senior stakeholders to develop and consistently deploy messaging and position statements to both internal and external audiences. Develop and oversee the execution of year-round dynamic press and earned media strategy, as well as plans for owned media. Developed earned and owned media strategies and activations for key campaigns globally, including the annual Movember campaign. Develop public engagement and earned media strategies that drive and support policy change in-line with our advocacy priorities. Lead the Communications Team in business partnering to support, build and deliver initiatives, as part of a cross-functional team. For example, work with the team to devise and implement targeted communication, media, and PR plans for campaign or product launches. Operationalising and managing Movember's local communications strategies in our core markets. Generating organisational impact stories, packaging them up and pitching to media, talent, influencers, content creators, and Movember's owned channel leads. Build and oversee the delivery of bespoke thought-leadership communication plans for key senior execs and SMEs in market, notably, the CEO. Work closely with the advocacy team to identify media and public policy issues where Movember should have a constructive voice. Coach and develop senior executives in the shaping and delivery of plans, and media presence and delivery. Coach and inspire the team, build, and leverage their skills and experience, through strong leadership, constructive feedback, and open communication. Build out and oversee the global Communications budget and ensure the budget is invested in line with global direction and that actual spend is accurately tracked against each budget. Your knowledge and experience: Significant senior communications experience that includes a blend of advocacy, strategic communications, storytelling, and media relations. Experience in the health sector, to translate complex health information into compelling mass communication. Solid experience and time working in the Social Impact space, in addition to Corporate Comms. Demonstrated track record in building and leading a global communications team. Experience working with external agencies, media, and partners to achieve best outcomes. Strong analytical, writing, editing and verbal skills for communicating with broad and diverse stakeholders. Strong team management experience – acting as a mentor to the team. Ability to work with executive and senior management; excellent negotiation, influencing and presentation skills.
