Role Description The Graduate Agricultural Technician will play a role in our table grape production operations, reporting directly to and working under the supervision of the Head Agronomist.
This position offers an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical, commercial setting while developing key skills in agricultural research and management.
The primary responsibilities and requirements of this role are as follows: Primary Responsibilities: Field Data Collection: Regularly collect comprehensive data on table grape development throughout the growing season.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of crop growth stages, yield estimates, and other relevant metrics.
Data Analysis and Interpretation: Systematize and analyse collected field data using appropriate methods.
Assist with reports generation from data collected and interpret data based on analysis to improve crop management strategies.
Identify disruption and threats and create opportunities for improvement.
Trial Management: Assist in the organisation and conduct field trials to test new techniques, varieties, or treatments.
Maintain detailed records of trial protocols, observations, and results.
Pest and Disease Monitoring: Perform weekly monitoring of pests and diseases in the vineyard.
Identify and report potential threats.
Quality Control: Monitor and record harvest and post-harvest data.
Collaborate with the quality team to implement and improve quality control measures.
Farm Management Support: Assist farm managers in day-to-day operations when required.
Provide technical support based on field observations and data analysis.
Experience & Qualifications Essential Criteria: Bachelor's degree in agricultural, business or related field Basic understanding of agricultural practices Proficiency in data collection techniques Knowledge of general pest and disease management in crops Good written and verbal communication skills Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field sites Physical ability to work long hours in outdoor conditions Proficiency in Microsoft Office Desirable Criteria: Previous experience in table grape production Familiarity with viticulture practices Experience with agricultural software and data management systems Specific knowledge of pest and disease management in grape crops Experience in writing technical reports Experience in operating farm machinery Familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SPSS) Competencies: Extensive Fieldwork: Ability to work long hours in outdoor conditions, often in varying weather.
Physical stamina to walk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
Strong Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data collection techniques and statistical analysis.

Pest and Disease Monitoring: Perform weekly monitoring of pests and diseases in the vineyard; Report findings to the Head Agronomist and farm manager.
Quality Control Support: Monitor and record harvest and post-harvest data; Assist the quality team in implementing quality control measures.
Farm Management Support: Assist farm managers in day-to-day operations when required; Provide field observations to support decision-making.
