The purpose of this role: Design, plan, and oversee the electrical and automation aspects of engineering projects.
Ensure the development of efficient, reliable, and high-quality equipment and factory systems tailored for the seed, feed, and food industries.
Drive project success from concept through to commissioning.
Align electrical systems with performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Support the seamless integration of systems into new and existing manufacturing processes.
Foster partnerships with key suppliers and channel partners.
Lead the automation, development, and testing of our patented state-of-the-art equipment in our purpose-built R&D facility.
Ultimately, this role ensures that all electrical components meet both technical and operational requirements, contributing to the overall success and innovation of the business's engineering solutions.
To be considered for this role you must have: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (such as Mechatronics or Automation Engineering).
Proven experience in managing electrical projects from design through to commissioning, ideally in manufacturing or industrial settings.
Strong skills in designing electrical systems and layouts for complex machinery and factory setups, with experience in Solidworks, Auto CAD, Inventor, Creo or similar design software.
Proficiency in PLCs (e.g., Schneider), SCADA systems, and HMI programming, with knowledge of automation protocols and Ethernet/IP.
Experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting control systems, including motor drives and VSDs.
Understanding of industrial power distribution, circuit protection, and grounding practices.
Prior experience in the seed, feed, or food industries is highly desirable, though experience in other related industries may be considered.
Familiarity with local and international electrical standards (e.g., AS/NZS 3000) and industry regulations, including safety compliance and risk assessments.
Proficiency in Solidworks Electrical 3 D and/or Solidworks Electrical Schematic.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Demonstrated ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and effectively manage competing and changing priorities.
