Selection Criteria SC1 Demonstrated practical ability to maintain buildings and grounds, using basic carpentry skills and proven experience.
SC2 Excellent communication skills indicating the ability to communicate effectively with Property Manager and a wide range of individuals including teachers, students, external agencies/trades.
SC3 Demonstrated effective organisational skills and ability to show initiative in a College environment.
SC4 A proven ability to work as part of a team and contribute towards achieving the goals and objectives of the College.
SC5 Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to occupational health and safety needs as related to the College.
SC6 Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Child Safe Standards.
Role An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction.
This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.
Responsibilities Maintain grassed areas and foliage throughout the College grounds.
Weed spraying, as required.
External blowing/vacuuming of leaves and debris daily (or as required).
Watering of planted areas, as required.
Planting of identified areas, as required.
Light Machinery Maintenance Facilitating the maintenance and service of gardening equipment.
Maintaining petrol supplies for powered gardening tools.
Grounds infrastructure maintenance Annual oiling of outdoor seats (or as required).
Annual painting of concrete pathways, steps and rails (or as required).
Regular checking and clearing of small storm water pits and drains.
Graffiti removal.
Minor external fence repairs.
Construction and/or repair of retaining walls.
Assistance to the Property Manager Small painting jobs.
Unblocking of toilets.
Retrieval of balls on roofs (only applicable if applicant holds a Working at Heights qualification).
Refitting and maintenance of door furniture.
Relocation of furniture.
Other/General Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, leaders, students and the general public.
Perform duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner in accordance with the College Values, the Victorian Public Sector Code of Conduct and all local policies and codes of conduct.
Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures and staff policies and protocols.
Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
Other duties as requested by the Property Manager, Principal, Business Manager.
