Your Responsibilities Design and create a Family Advisory team structure and ecosystem to meet the needs of clients in this area, including LGT Crestone employees and trusted/recommended external professional service partners.
Advise and guide HNW and UHNW families or their family offices on their wealth transfer, family governance, legacy preservation, and philanthropic needs, goals, and aspirations.
This includes acting, where appropriate, as project leader for clients with complex planning needs, identifying the right external adviser(s) to work with the families on specific issues or planning concerns, or working with advisers appointed by such families to address these concerns.
Work in partnership with LGT Crestone investment advisers to support coverage of their clients and prospects and systematically create pipeline generation for new clients who are looking for wealth advice.
Be the subject matter expert and "thought leader" in the Australian market, working closely with the LGT Crestone Executive Committee and investment advisers, to meet client needs and help achieve LGT Crestone growth ambitions.
This includes but is not limited to: Speaking at, leading, or coordinating family workshops (whether a dedicated family or a group of connected families) or education sessions for clients and prospects.
Writing thought leadership articles in local media publications demonstrating LGT Crestone's depth of knowledge and capabilities in this area.
Writing and publishing LGT Crestone client-facing documents and brochures on Family Advisory or specific topics to raise awareness among clients and demonstrate LGT Crestone's expertise and capabilities.
Designing and leading LGT client events with a focus on expert content in Family Advisory topics.
Speaking at public events and conferences targeted at either clients, prospective clients, or professional service partners in the Family Advisory area.
Holding learning and education sessions for client-facing LGT Crestone staff to explain the growing client need for advice and support in these areas, the importance of meeting client needs in this area, and how the Family Advisory team is able to support.
Provide strategic guidance to the LGT Crestone Executive Committee on how Family Advisory can help LGT Crestone achieve its long-term goals.
Work closely with Marketing to raise the profile of LGT Crestone generally, but particularly in the Family Advisory area.
Foster connectivity and exchange of best practice learnings with the Family Advisory and Wealth Planning teams across the LGT Group, with a particular focus on the APAC region.
Prepare business plans and annual budgets for the Family Advisory team that include: Short and long-term targets and key performance indicators (financial and non-financial) that align with LGT Crestone's strategic plans.
Structure of the team, including roles and responsibilities of the different team members.
Client fee model and service offering, outlining which tasks are intended to be done by LGT Crestone staff and which are intended to be outsourced.
About You Degree in Finance, Commerce, or Business.
Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.
RG146 accreditation.
CA/CPA qualified seen as an advantage.
10-15 years+ relevant experience in advising UHNW families in family governance, wealth planning, ownership and corporate governance of family businesses, and intergenerational wealth transfer, or having provided strategic consulting to families and family businesses in these areas.
Demonstrated experience in developing deep trusted relationships with families on a one-to-one basis to establish and implement family, wealth ownership, or corporate governance is essential.
Experience of operationally setting up a single-family office for a dedicated family would be a distinct advantage.
Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
Oral and written proficiency in a second language, preferably Asian, would be a distinct advantage.
