About the Role: Due to the continuous growth of Aus IMM, we are currently seeking a motivated and driven individual to grow Aus IMM's online courses portfolio.
The Head of Online Education facilitates the long-term growth of Aus IMM by leading the strategy, development and delivery of Aus IMM's online learning portfolio of products for mining industry professionals, while ensuring Aus IMM is underpinned by a modern digital ecosystem.
This role is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of Aus IMM's program of online courses whilst leading the team to ensure that year-on-year development and delivery goals are achieved.
Working closely with the Online Courses and Technical Programs teams, and reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): Crafting the education strategy and objectives for online courses Ensuring financial targets are met for the business unit Leading the online courses team to achieve team OKRs, including coaching and developing direct reports.
Identifying and developing opportunities to strategically grow Aus IMM's online courses portfolio and optimise current courses, including analysing sector needs, scoping course ideas and strategising appropriate go-to-market plans.
Guiding the learning design team in developing courses that meet the education and quality objectives of the organisation.
Guiding the operational delivery team to ensure a high-quality experience for learners and an engaged and high performing faculty.
Developing and setting the annual revenue and expenditure budget, and monitor/manage budgets to ensure revenue and expenditure targets are met.
Guiding direct reports to assess, refine and optimise online courses governance and team processes, guidelines and frameworks.
Overseeing commercial/legal agreements with vendors, consultants and other service providers.
Identifying and mitigating key risks pertaining to online courses.
Building and sustaining relevant senior stakeholder relationships.
There is an opportunity, depending on the candidates' skills and experience, to lead the technical programs area ensuring Aus IMM's digital ecosystem (CRM, websites, databases etc) is meeting the current and future needs of the organisation.

Skills and experience essential to the role include: At least 10 years' experience with adult learning principles and leading teams to develop and manage a successful curriculum of commercially available online training programs A growth mindset and strong commercial acumen Demonstrated experience leading and achieving strategic goals with a focus on revenue-generating opportunities Understanding of online learning, learning management and knowledge of instructional design principles A passion for delivering a superior learner experience Good understanding of the applications of digital technology (CRM, database, website etc) and experience working on projects with teams and vendors from a digital technology background Strong analytical skills to interpret and uncover market trends, competitor analysis and agility to learn and adapt to new and changing business environments Advanced influencing skills and ability to lead and manage key relationships at senior levels Advanced written and verbal communication skills Experience managing competing priorities to meet agreed deadlines whilst solving problems in an innovative and creative manner, with strong attention to detail Desirable skills and experience: Experience working on technical courses and with technical subject matter experts Experience working with, or in, the mining sector or another highly technical sector Understanding of professional development products/services as provided by associations, peak bodies or training organisations Exposure to, or experience in, digital transformation or enhancement projects We're passionate about our commitment to build and accelerate the careers of people working in all aspects of the mining industry, and that same commitment extends to our employees.
