As part of the new Operating Model, we are looking for a
Head of Pricing & Portfolio Manager
to join our
Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane
office.
This leadership role is responsible for the Pricing & Portfolio Management functions within Technical Solutions. Focusing on the design and continuous improvement of Ansvar's Actuarial Pricing framework and Portfolio Management frameworks, conduct regular Profitability Studies to determine portfolio performance by product, class, industry sector and customer segment. Lead and direct the budgeting and forecasting processes.
Key responsibilities
Actuarial Pricing Framework
Portfolio Management / Performance Dashboards
Portfolio optimisation (in liaison with Product & Underwriting Management)
Profitability Reviews (in liaison with Approved Actuary, and Product & Underwriting Management)
Natural Peril exposure / accumulation management & modelling
Financial Management
Modelling & portfolio stress-testing
Knowledge, skills and experience
Extensive experience (min. 10+ years) in leading a pricing & portfolio management function within Commercial Lines insurance
Proven track record in building & maintaining management information systems (MIS) in Commercial Lines insurance
Proven track record of performance management and developing & executing portfolio engineering / optimisation strategies within Commercial Lines insurance
Sound knowledge of coding / programming languages such as VBA, SQL, SAS, R, Python
Strong computer literacy skills including MS Excel (advanced), MS Word (intermediate) and Powerpoint (intermediate)
Sound knowledge of property, casualty and financial lines products
Ability to display sound judgement and ability to problem solve
Confident and influential communicator with the ability to negotiate at all levels
Experience of effective stakeholder management within a commercial environment
Commercial acumen – decisiveness on critical business issues and decision making
Willingness to take ownership & accountability; ability to lead, mentor & coach others
Responds positively to change; actively seeks feedback on performance
Ability to create a positive working environment
