The Opportunity: AFMH is looking for enthusiastic Herd Technicians to join our dairy operations at Coomboona Farms in Northern Victoria.
Our Herd Technicians are involved with all aspects of calf rearing, herd health, hoof trimming, breeding and reproduction programs; caring for the overall health and wellbeing of our cows.

Dairy operations are located at Moxey Farms in Gooloogong, NSW, as well as Coomboona Farms in Coomboona, VIC.
In addition, AFMH operates Ladysmith Farms a young stock operation near Wagga Wagga, NSW and extensive cropping land in Torrumbarry, VIC.
Key accountabilities include: Participate in all aspects of herd health.
This will include monitoring transition, fresh and milking cows and diagnosis of common health conditions.
Assist with all aspects of maternity, herd health, hoof care and trimming, reproduction and dairy nutrition programs.
Assist with all aspects of herd reproduction, including AI, heat detection and synchronisation programs.
Assist with all aspects of dairy nutrition including feed delivery as per feeding schedules, silage pit covering, recording feed data and operation and maintenance of machinery.
Assist with calving and the rearing calves, calf vaccinations & treatments, and other herd management tasks.
Maintaining accurate records relating to herd health.
Periodic relief in the milking parlour.
The successful applicant will possess: A Bachelor of Science or similar.
2-3 years experience in herd health, calving and calf rearing essential.
Knowledge in herd management including experience from reputable and world leading large scale dairy farm/s.
Experience with herd software programs including Dairy Comp 305 or electronic monitoring systems such as Cow Manager.
Driver's licence and own transport.
