Details of Department The position is within the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, Austin Hospital, Austin Health, a major public teaching hospital and tertiary referral health centre associated with The University of Melbourne.
The Department includes a busy 22 bed inpatient ward, including a dedicated ventilation weaning and respiratory high dependency unit, inpatient sleep study beds for ventilatory studies, complex pulmonary function and sleep laboratories and is connected with the Institute for Breathing and Sleep.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Respiratory Physician to work within the Victorian Respiratory Support Service - statewide home ventilation service.
About the role: 3 year fixed term position It is desirable that the successful candidate is undertaking, or willing to undertake a PHD in this field Key elements for this role will include: Contributing to patient care for new " " admitted at home model, including home visiting, outpatient and laboratory evaluation Outpatient and home admission clinic - Respiratory and Sleep Specialist in Victorian Respiratory Support Service (VRSS - home ventilation service) clinic, including telehealth and face to face consultations and admitting patients for home based evaluation Sleep laboratory and home monitoring reporting and patient review, including respiratory failure patients on home ventilation through admitted at home model.
To be successful in this role you must: Must be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Current Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent.
Member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand.
