Part time, ongoing role Collaborative and innovative working environment Join a school committed to student and staff wellbeing About the role Leading independent girls' school, Camberwell Girls Grammar School, presents an opportunity for a highly skilled, passionate and creative music educator to join our team on a part time basis from the start of 2025 academic year.
Reporting to the Directors of Music, you will be responsible for planning, developing and delivering a comprehensive, Kodály-focused classroom music program for upper Junior School and Middle School students (Years 5-9).
Additionally, you will be leading the choral direction of co-curricular choirs including preparation for performances for whole School events.
Next year is particularly exciting as students prepare for our 2025 European Music Tour, which will feature orchestral and choral works.
The position is 0.6 FTE, however there is the option to increase the load by teaching private tuition students, ranging from beginner level to advanced abilities.
You will make an impact by: Teaching a wide range of students, with key strengths in teaching in a Kodály-based curriculum, in the classroom music program; Developing music curriculum as part of a team; Reporting and providing feedback; Supporting weekly assemblies, concerts and soirees; and Advocating and promoting the positive impact of music education through regular contributions to the School's communication platforms and newsletter circulations.
The successful applicant will demonstrate high-level choral skills and the ability to support students in their development as performers.
CGGS teachers have an excellent understanding of effective pedagogical practices and contemporary learning design with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
