We are SiteHost, a web hosting company based in New Zealand, recognized for our outstanding service and innovative approaches to assisting our customers. We are currently seeking a Junior Developer to join our Operations team.
Location
This position is based in La Paz, Bolivia. We prefer candidates comfortable with an office-based environment to foster a professional and welcoming atmosphere, especially during the onboarding of new team members.
About the Role
As a Junior Developer, you’ll be a valuable member of our expanding team. We’re an agile company with members around the world, effectively using collaboration tools and techniques for efficient teamwork, ensuring constant communication as we collectively tackle problem-solving.
You will:
- Work across various projects, infrastructure, and languages (full-stack development).
- Collaborate with talented developers on new and existing products to keep our customers happy.
- Work on internal tools to help our Operations team be as productive as possible.
- Report to the head of our larger team while being part of small sprint-based project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building and consuming APIs.
- Working with PHP, Python, Go, or similar languages.
- Writing clean and maintainable code.
- Communicating complex issues clearly and working effectively with remote team members.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- An eye for spotting potential UI/UX problems.
- Experience with cloud services and LAMP stacks.
- Familiarity with Linux and operating platforms used in servers.
- An understanding of how hosting works, including domains and DNS.
