About the Role The Kinship Care Team Leader maintains responsibility for oversight of the day-to-day operations of the team, including management of referral and intake assessments, professional liaison with the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and external stakeholders, legislative recording, reporting and delivery of evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed case management across the Brimbank Melton local government areas, aligned with DFFH funding and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities include: Commitment to the service delivery of evidence-based best practice to vulnerable children, youth and families with complex needs, children with a disability; children and families from a culturally or linguistically diverse background; and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Commitment to the safety, well-being and best interests of children and young people, and duty of care in the prevention, identification, and response to child abuse.
Compliance with budgets, procedures and protocols to meet best practice and compliance with legislation, Baptcare quality systems, and contractual requirements.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders including funding body and membership of key networks.
Participate, assist and support the immediate and broader team to implement evidence-based practice and ensure exceptional customer service and outcomes-based support to clients.

About You You are passionate about continuing to grow your career in the Family and Community Services space coming from a leadership role.

You will ideally bring the following: Tertiary Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant Human Services qualification and/or experience.
Extensive experience in people management including supervision, performance development and performance management.
Sound stakeholder management and the ability to build and maintain strong, credible relationships with local networks, government associations, business leaders and other relevant stakeholders.
Strong working knowledge of the Child Protection system, legislation, and frameworks in addition to practice considerations for Out of Home Care Services.
Comprehensive knowledge of the legislative and political context, with ability to research and seek information from stakeholders to support and inform assessment of risk and service efficacy.
Demonstrated ability to identify, assess and prioritise risks and needs of clients in a holistic approach to practice.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to meet a changing environment and needs of staff, carer and/or client group while maintaining focus on delivery outcomes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and problem-solving.
