plus 17% super About the Role The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for preparing hepatitis B virus inoculum and testing its efficacy in cell culture models of HBV infection.
Your responsibilities will include: Provide technical support to the Hepatitis B cure research program, assisting with cell culture experiments, murine studies, and analyses of hepatitis B virus replication markers.
Prepare hepatitis B virus inoculum and test efficacy in HBV infection experiments using cell culture models.
Maintain accurate and detailed records, analyze data, and contribute to research outputs.
Attend weekly laboratory meetings and liaise with support staff.
Prepare virus-like particles for in vitro and in vivo studies.
Who We Are Looking For You will possess an undergraduate degree in Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences, or a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
You demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, adapt to new tasks, and contribute as a member of a multi-disciplinary research team.
You will also have: Excellent time management and work ethic for successful completion of detailed laboratory experiments.
Proficient computer skills related to laboratory operations and record-keeping.
Understanding and respect for PC2, DAFF, and OGTR regulations.
Protective immunity to hepatitis B virus.
This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
