You will have exposure from day one to fast-paced litigation, alternative dispute resolution, client conferences and the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our matters moving.Working within our close-knit, supportive practice you will have the opportunity to live our core values of authenticity and connection, while making a real, measurable difference to our clients and their families.ResponsibilitiesProviding detailed family law advice to clients by way of phone, written correspondence and in conferenceDrafting court documents, Binding Financial Agreements, Child Support Agreements and settlement documentsAppearing at administrative court events and conferences on behalf of clientsInstructing counsel during court hearings, mediations and conferencesEngaging barristers, third party valuers, financial advisors and therapeutic professionalsPreparing briefs to counselCollaborating with senior practitioners when advising clients and managing client filesCorresponding with opposing solicitorsDelegating work and providing instructions to junior lawyers, paralegals and administrative supportSupporting graduates and seasonal clerks throughout their rotationsAbout YouSuccessful candidates must have a current practicing certificate for MelbourneSuitable candidates will bring between 8-10+ years post-admission experience gained within family lawDemonstrate critical reasoning and analytical skills with the ability to think laterallyStrong legal drafting abilityEffective and timely file management and billing abilityProven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships, particularly the ability to earn the confidence and trust of key stakeholdersGood influencing and negotiation capabilityStrong verbal and written communication skillsHighly organised, able to plan and prioritise work to meet key deliverablesProven ability to facilitate presentations and meetings with varying sizes of groups of peopleThe ability to challenge the status quo and offer practical solutionsCulturePeople choose Landers for our down-to-earth, collaborative and supportive culture.
