Looking for a real opportunity to create new solutions for our future? Develop models, scopes of works and business cases to support augmentation, renewal or maintenance of the gas network in this role.
You will plan the gas infrastructure here at Aus Net as a Lead Network Planning Engineer (Gas) that supplies 780,000 customers in western Melbourne, Geelong and Western Victoria.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: Deliver comprehensive planning processes to assess network capabilities, assess emerging issues and identify areas of the network where limitations may occur.
Maintain network models using designated software to inform decisions based on performance.
Oversee the Network Capacity and SCADA Strategies.
Manage the Isolation and System Contingency Plans.
Implement measures to close performance gaps and achieve target network performance.
Ensure network performance aligns with SLAs and Customer Satisfaction targets.
Develop and present Network Augmentation Business Cases and Scopes of Work.
Assist in creating Mains Renewals Scopes of Work.
Simplify complex engineering analysis for non-engineers (e.g., developing procedures for control room).
You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: Proficiency in Synergi Gas, GIS, Power BI and SCADA is highly valued.
Familiarity with the Gas Distribution System Code and related regulations.
Relevant degree in Engineering or a closely related STEM field.
Experience with the mechanics of fluid flow in pipelines is advantageous.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, reports, manuals, and procedures.
Skill in understanding complex diagrams, such as PFD and P&ID.
Knowledge of rotating plant associated equipment, and their control systems.
Exposure to the Gas network operations is preferred.
Professional Engineers Registration.
