Mac Killop Education is a Catholic Specialist P-12 School that comprises of three school campuses; Geelong, Maidstone and Caulfield.
It caters for children and young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education.
The students referred to Mac Killop have a history and/or ongoing experience of trauma and their needs are complex and diverse; self-regulation is difficult for our students and this can result in challenging social and emotional behaviours.
This position is a part time.4 FTE position - 2 days per week.
About the role: The Generalist Teacher will work collaboratively to develop and deliver highly effective and engaging learning programs that are suited to the diverse needs of our students and meet the requirements of the Victorian Curriculum.
This position will design and deliver learning programs that meet the needs of all students and is compliant with curriculum requirements.
This includes classroom teaching and 1:1 intensive student support as required.
Applicants with experience working in what was formerly VCAL/Senior Pathways will be strongly considered.
Working with a highly skilled team, this position will collaborate to develop and deliver effective and engaging evidence-based learning programs suited to our students' diverse needs, while meeting the requirements of the Victorian Curriculum.

To be successful in this role: A four-year teaching qualification or equivalent and eligibility for Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration Demonstrated understanding of and experience of implementing evidence-based teaching practices, informed by the Victorian Curriculum Experience in the design, delivery and assessment of programs that cater for the diverse and complex needs of individual learners, and engage students who have a range of learning difficulties and challenging behaviours Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and creatively with colleagues to improve the quality of programs and enhance student outcomes Requirements: Valid and current VIT Card Valid and current Driver's Licence Satisfactory Criminal History Check Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check Please address the full Key Selection Criteria outlined in the Position Description as part of your application.
