And as a full-time, fixed-term Legal Costing Officer based in the Melbourne CBD , that starts with you.
Although this role is to cover parental leave contract for twelve (12) months , this role may have the possibility to extend based on business needs.
This is a great opportunity to work in an internally focused role for a Legal Costing Solicitor on all aspects of costing client matters, including statistical analysis, reconciliation, data entry, preparation of itemised accounts, and administrative and legal assistance to the broader team.
You'll be part of a truly connected team of authentic people who are as passionate as you are.
With empathy, adaptability and initiative, you will be a true champion of our clients by: Undertaking data entry, numerical reconciliation and statistical analysis of work in progress accounts in Microsoft Excel of client information.
Providing administrative and limited legal assistance to the Legal Costing Team.
Assisting in the preparation of itemised accounts in Excel for checking, review and amendment by the Costing Solicitor and/or National Costing Solicitor.
Maintaining the progress of work within the legal costing team using internal systems.
Assisting in the preparation of files to be outsourced for external costing.
Preparing Draft Itemised Accounts, reviewing WIP narratives, updating or adding detail as required and checking for accuracy.
Providing draft accounts to Costing Solicitors for review.
Providing ad hoc administration as required for the broader team.
What you'll bring Prior experience as a Paralegal will be highly regarded.
Previous experience as an Administration Assistant/Accounts Officer in a professional services environment will also be considered favourably.
Strong statistical and numerical understanding of data.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
A commitment to truly connect with those around you and work together to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Ability to work as part of a team with competing priorities.
Strong MS Office skills in particular Excel.
The ability to work 38 hours per week, between the hours of 8:15am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
