Manager, Business Development (Decarbonisation / Environmental Markets)
RepuTex is the leading provider of price information, analysis and advisory services for the Australian carbon and electricity commodity markets.
Our market data and forecasts, published via our EnergyIQ platform, help Australia's largest companies, investors and traders to form their view of environmental markets prices, and guide strategic decisions to navigate Australia's decarbonisation targets.
With 1,000+ users from over 150 companies, our customers make up over 80% of OTC traded activity in the Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) market, and over two-thirds of all emissions covered by Australia's Safeguard Mechanism compliance market.
Our bespoke modelling work has driven major climate policy developments including Australia's national 43% emissions target, Australia's 82% renewable energy target; the reform of the Safeguard Mechanism framework, and the development of Australia's carbon exchange.
About this role
We are a fast-growing SME with aggressive growth aspirations, and a disruptive mindset. As the Manager, Business Development, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and expanding our client base. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with clients, onboarding new customers, and managing the entire sales cycle.

Key duties and responsibilities
Account management:
Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships with strategic decision makers and senior stakeholders to ensure they utilise our content, maximise value, and help translate account needs into business opportunities.
Briefings:
Run client meetings and deliver presentations that illustrate the value of our energy/environmental markets insights and data offering.
Renewals:
Oversee the renewal process for B2B SaaS / data subscriptions, ensuring timely renewals and minimising churn. Oversee planning and executing the account management schedule including regular touch points.
Lead Generation:
Identify and cultivate new sales opportunities through various channels, including networking events, strategic outreach, and marketing campaigns.
Client Onboarding:
Manage the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition and successful implementation of our solutions.
Salesforce:
Utilise Salesforce to maintain accurate pipeline and sales information and develop reports on overall activity.
Your skills and experience
You have a strong interest in the energy transition and industrial decarbonisation, you like rolling up your sleeves, getting your hands dirty (figuratively!), and working in a stimulating, fun SME environment.
You are an energetic, self-motivated sales professional with experience managing high-profile customer accounts and developing new business.
You have a demonstrable track record of growing ARR through B2B SaaS / data sales.
You have experience working in the energy industry, selling into energy markets or working within the energy commodities trading lifecycle.
You have experience and/or good knowledge of environmental markets, particularly emissions trading and carbon markets, and are highly conversant in energy, commodity and ESG topics.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience and a proven track record in B2B SaaS / data sales.
Excellent presentation skills and proven ability to work with senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience selling into energy markets or working within the energy commodities trading lifecycle.
Ability to independently acquire knowledge of industry members, competitors, key trends and products.
Demonstrated subject matter understanding of the Australian energy sector and/or environmental markets, and ability to converse on related topics.
Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM software.
