About the Role As the Manager Community Places, you will play a key leadership role within Colac Otway Shire's Senior Leadership Team.
This position is responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational management of the Shire's community infrastructure, including recreation facilities, public open spaces, and community centres.
You will lead the planning and delivery of initiatives designed to enhance community life, from managing key sites such as the Bluewater Leisure Centre to maintaining the Shire's buildings and facilities.
Reporting to the General Manager Community and Economy, you will focus on increasing community participation and fostering collaborative relationships across the Shire, ensuring that all facilities are managed to meet the current and future needs of the community.
Candidate Profile We are seeking an experienced leader with a strong background in community development, recreation, or facility management.
The ideal candidate will bring a strategic approach to managing community infrastructure, with a demonstrated ability to oversee a diverse range of facilities and services.
You will have exceptional leadership skills, capable of motivating teams and building positive relationships across the community and Council.
Strong financial management experience, including contract oversight, is essential, along with the ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure that services meet the evolving needs of the community.
Experience in a regional or local government setting will be highly regarded.
