In this exciting role, you'll be at the lead of our Community and Stakeholder Engagement efforts, shaping the future of Development and Future Networks. You'll have the unique opportunity to set the strategic direction and framework for community engagement at an enterprise level, ensuring our initiatives are not only impactful but also aligned with our organizational values.
Additionally, you will establish a Centre of Excellence for the organization, focusing on workforce and capability planning, fostering a culture of shared learning, and optimizing resources. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving meaningful community relationships and setting a new standard for excellence in engagement.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
Lead a team to deliver engagement strategies by developing a strategic plan and embedding systems and processes, managing community and stakeholder engagement activities and events.
Develop targeted; multi-channel communication campaigns that enable effective engagement and manage reputational risks and emerging issues.
Represent and present AusNet's position on priority and emerging issues to communities and the Energy sector.
Provide appropriate and timely advice to AusNet's Corporate Affairs and Communications team and work to ensure that media releases and responses, speeches, and FAQs are relevant, accurate and consistent in messaging.
Create and deliver a proactive narrative around energy infrastructure to effectively communicate to key stakeholders, reduce risk and clarify AusNet's objectives.
Lead the development of a one AusNet approach to Community and Stakeholder Engagement by creating a Centre of Excellence for the organisation.
Lead research and analysis activities and leverage data and analytics to identify changes in stakeholder and community attitudes to effectively target communications and influence the direction of current and future strategies and programs.
Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the perspectives of key stakeholders are considered and addressed.
Provide informed advice and responses on potentially sensitive and controversial issues, while balancing the need for transparent communication.
Exercising astute judgement in developing, leading and influencing effective relationships with key stakeholders to achieve sustainable partnerships.
Managing ongoing issues in an intense environment of media and stakeholder scrutiny.
Contribute to new business, continuous improvement and broader business activities.
Perform all duties in accordance with AusNet policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures.
You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
Tertiary Degree (Bachelor level) or certificate or relevant experience (Disciplines relevant to function area, e.g. public relations, journalism, stakeholder management, marketing)
Community Engagement Qualification such as IAP2 certification
Diploma or Masters of Project Management, Certificate IV Safety
Proven experience in a Community and Stakeholder Engagement or Communications role
Multi-discipline experience, e.g. corporate communications, stakeholder relations, marketing communications
Experience in leading project or specialist function activities
Relevant experience gained within major organisations - relevant sector, government or consultancy
Relevant experience in critical capital infrastructure projects ($1Bn+)
