About the Victorian School Building Authority The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) is part of the Department of Education.
Established in 2016, it oversees Victoria's largest school building program since the state introduced free public education in the 1870s.
The VSBA upgrades and expands existing schools and plans, designs, and builds new schools to meet enrolment demand.
We also support schools to maintain their buildings and grounds by offering expert advice and coordinating maintenance programs and grants.
About the Division Asset Management Division The Asset Management Division is responsible for setting VSBA's strategic asset direction, developing and implementing programs that address accessibility, inclusion, and accommodation initiatives, and building school capability and capacity to manage assets.
The Maintenance Delivery Branch oversees maintenance projects, encompassing planned maintenance, as well as the upkeep of hydraulic fire safety systems and shelter-in-place facilities.
Additionally, it ensures that secondary school campuses are equipped with suitable facilities to accommodate mental health practitioners, aligning with the government's commitment to this program.
About the Role The Manager, Maintenance Delivery will lead a dedicated team of project officers focused on the successful delivery of maintenance projects and building and construction projects at schools around the state.
The ideal candidate will possess strong capabilities in project management in building and construction, demonstrating expertise in coordinating maintenance projects, people management, regulatory compliance, and implementing best practices in project delivery.
This position emphasizes fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout program lifecycles.
The Manager, Maintenance Delivery will navigate complex issues and present viable solutions while providing invaluable guidance to schools on operational programs and developing program policies and guidelines, utilizing extensive business analysis to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate the successful delivery of maintenance delivery works and programs.
Effectively communicating complex issues, options, and solutions.
Advising schools on operational programs and alternative support strategies.
Leading the development of program policies and guidelines.
Conducting business analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in maintenance delivery.
Establishing processes to monitor and analyse project data across the program.
Providing input to corporate asset management improvement and assurance measures.

Attributes The candidate must have experience in: Leading a team effectively, ensuring they deliver on works and programs.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate successful program delivery and effective communication.
Managing the delivery of programs, overseeing project milestones, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Monitoring and analyzing program-wide project data.
Aligning operational programs with broader strategic goals and initiatives of the organization.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience Essential: a relevant advanced degree in fields such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
3-5 years of progressive experience in developing policies, guidelines, and procedures related to program management or operational initiatives.
