The Manager, Finance is a member of the Corporate Services function with the position reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Services.
The position assists the Head of Corporate Services and Director Operations and Services to provide expert financial management advice to the Commissioner, supports the Leadership Team and other internal stakeholders.

The Manager, Finance will ideally have strong interpersonal skills and is able to develop and build effective relationships with stakeholders and can confidently provide verbal and written financial advice that aligns with organisational objectives and strategies.
They will have experience analysing financial and operational performance to enable timely budget formulation, modelling, forecasting and projections.
The role is fixed term for 12 months.
Some of your duties will include: Oversee and ensure compliance with the Financial Management Act 1994 and the day-to-day budget monitoring at the Commission.
Contribute as required in the investigation and implementation of critical projects that develop and review policies, professional standards and operating practices that enhance service delivery, fiscal efficiency of the Commission and budget effectiveness, which leads to improved outcomes.
Ensure strategic and timely financial advice is provided to key stakeholders including the Commissioner, Audit and Risk Committee, VEOHRC Board, and to the Department of Justice & Community Safety (DJCS) Central Finance Team and inform them of any issues and risks that may significantly affect the financial performance and position of the Commission.
Build strong and effective working relationships with Commission's Leadership Team and staff and key external stakeholders including officers of DJCS in relation to all budget, financial and audit issues.
About you: To be successful in this role, you will have: Proven and demonstrated experience preparing and reporting on financial information, annual reports, and other relevant statistical information.
Knowledge of government Oracle 11i financial management system and preferably a budget management system.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully in a dynamic, fast-paced, and supportive team.
Qualifications: An appropriate business or finance related qualification is required.
A professional accounting qualification (CPA or CA) is preferable but not mandatory.
