In this critical role, you will lead the function and provide strategic advice and recommendations for the whole utility business in areas of protective security.
This role will be suited to a strategic, experienced security individual who is passionate about compliance, physical security and delivering outcomes in an organisation playing a key role in the shift to a cleaner energy future.
Reporting to the GM Operations (Transmission), this role is based in our Flinders Street Office.
(Occasional interstate/in-state travel will be required in this role) This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: Collaborate and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to grow Aus Net's reputation in this field.
Identify and share emerging risks and threats in terms of the security of critical infrastructure.
Maintain organisational wide compliance with respect to physical security obligations.
Manage the physical security strategy.
Provide recommendations, education and raise the security posture culture within the business, including formal briefings to executives.
Develop and deploy training and awareness material to the business to address prevailing and emerging risks.
Sustain the SOCI uplift program.
You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: Management of security contractors and systems within budgets and KPIs.
Team leadership and management of contractors.
Experience managing security for critical infrastructure assets, as deemed by the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) Act, will be highly regarded.
A corporate security practitioner experienced in managing diverse assets across a large geographic footprint, with experience in state critical infrastructure being essential.
Detailed awareness of compliance and best practice arrangements for physical security and SOCI.
Diploma/Advanced Diploma: Diplomas in Security and Risk Management or similar qualifications.
Management of security in a regulated environment incorporating direct liaison experience with state and federal agencies.
Investigation experience determining root causes of security breaches including liaising with law enforcement re complex criminal investigations.
Experience contributing to the preparation of policies, procedures, strategies and executive level papers in relation to protective security, risk, business continuity and resilience functions.
