The Procurement and Contracts team consists of 7 staff that oversee the areas of Fleet, Insurance, Procurement and Contracts.
Following a recent departure, we are looking to appoint a Manager Procurement and Contracts to lead this team, and the wider organisation in the delivery of best practice procurement practices.
Reporting to the CFO and forming part of the senior leadership team, this role plays a critical role in the way we engage and manage external suppliers, robust analysis and decision making in these areas and reporting back to this business to drive future direction.
The role The Manager Procurement and Contracts is responsible for: Strategic leadership of all aspects of procurement, purchasing and contracting for the City of Kingston.
Policy development and advice to the Chief Finance Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Executive Leadership Team, and Council – particularly in administering and updating Kingston's Procurement Policy (November 2021).
Ensuring compliance with the requirements of the procurement elements of the Local Government Act 2020 in the administration of procurement and tendering.
Reporting on procurement activity and compliance, and data management of procurement information.
Fostering business partnering through ensuring effective procurement and contracting processes, systems, guidance/templates, and training are in place for all officers engaged in procurement activity.
About you We are looking for someone with: Demonstrated experience in Procurement and Contract management.
An accomplished leader with a coaching style who can support and develop their team and support business partnering.
The ability to drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
