About the Neurodiagnostics Laboratory The Neurodiagnostics Laboratory is committed to promoting the highest levels of diagnostic service for our patients.
In realizing this goal, the department will lead and excel in research, teaching, and the use of person-centered evidence-based practice.
The department provides services across all three campuses of Austin Health, from the Emergency Department through to bed-based services and ongoing ambulatory care.
About the role As a Medical Scientist at Austin Health, you will work collaboratively with a supportive team of professionals, who are passionate about providing best practice care for patients.
You'll join a friendly and supportive team who genuinely enjoy their work and the contribution they make.
A regular day will see you: Provide a positive experience to patients, families, and carers who attend the Neurodiagnostics Laboratory for diagnostic testing.
Independently perform a range of neurodiagnostic tests focusing on nerve conduction studies and evoked potentials and providing support for electroencephalography (EEG) services when required.
Provide technical support and supervision to medical trainees in clinical neurophysiology.
Participate in laboratory programs and ongoing professional development.
Participate in laboratory programs for training and supervision of graduate scientific staff and students on clinical placement.
About you You will have excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.
You'll bring energy and drive to your work and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
You'll further have: Bachelor of Science / Applied Science with relevant clinical experience.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in using Natus software would be advantageous (but not essential).
