About the Role This position requires strong leadership of a highly skilled group of professionals, driving excellence in risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and innovative solutions tailored to the mining industry.
Your key responsibilities will include: Supporting Energy Risk Engineering Services (Energy RES) management and underwriters in capacity allocation, risk selection, and portfolio management; Representing Swiss Re at senior-level customer meetings, Mining industry events, and conferences; Conducting workshops, seminars, and marketing activities to support risk communication and stakeholder engagement for the Mining line of business; Identifying opportunities for process optimization and operational excellence within Mining Risk Engineering, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices; Managing the Mining RES team's workload, resource allocation, and account engineering roles, ensuring optimal utilization and client satisfaction; Contributing to the Energy Core Management team, ensuring compliance with risk guidelines and refining tools and processes for the Mining industry.
About You Proven experience in mining risk engineering and loss prevention in commercial insurance; University or Post Graduate Degree in mechanical, mining, electrical, or processing engineering, or equivalent education; Strong strategic thinking and execution capabilities; Experience managing technical teams and fostering collaboration; Innovation mindset with strong conceptual and analytical skills; Solid reinsurance knowledge, preferably in corporate business underwriting, and proficiency in technical English (additional languages advantageous); Business travel required.
About the Team The Mining Risk Engineering Services team includes highly experienced engineers with expertise in diverse technical fields and global language capabilities, ensuring comprehensive support for our underwriters.
