The role reports directly into the Group General Manager Internal Audit & Operational Excellence, who reports jointly into the CEO and Board Audit Committee.
The Operational Excellence Lead is primarily responsible for delivering the Operational Excellence strategy across the Enterprise and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
This includes proactively reviewing existing processes, workflows and systems to identify opportunities to optimise and improve and developing actionable recommendations aligned to better practice.
Let's look at some key responsibilities: Support the development and execution of the Operational Excellence strategy for the Enterprise Working collaboratively with key stakeholders across the Enterprise identify opportunities for process redesign, quality improvement and best practice utilisation Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing processes, workflows and systems to identify inefficiencies, pain points and bottlenecks Develop pragmatic and actionable recommendations to address opportunities identified to optimise and enhance processes, workflows and systems Prepare detailed reports that document opportunities, recommendations aligned to better practices, and expected benefits Communicate recommendations, and expected benefits to Middle and Senior Management for their consideration in prioritisation for implementation Oversee the timely and effective implementation of recommendations by the relevant Business Unit and provide advisory support as needed Where appropriate, assist management with the implementation of recommendations Help establish and monitor metrics to measure the effectiveness of recommendations implemented by the relevant Business Unit Provide Business Units with operational excellence advisory support on any material new / changes to processes, workflows and systems Assist with the preparation of Management and Board reports Help enhance Operational Excellence capability across the Enterprise through developing and implementing process improvement tools, methodologies and training Ideally, we're looking for the following: Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering or related fields Minimum 5 - 7 year's experience in process improvement, operational management, or related field Extensive financial services experience, preferably in retail banking / consumer lending Expertise in process improvement methodologies and change implementation Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong interpersonal, collaboration and engagement skills Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal Strong organisation and prioritisation skills Strong attention to detail, including thoroughness in reviewing data, processes and documentation Proactive and inquisitive mindset Sometimes the best candidates don't have 100% of what is listed above, but if you have most and are confident, you'd be a good fit, we'd love to hear from you!
