Operations Manager / RI Children s Residential Operation in Swindon Wiltshire £60k We are recruiting an Operations Manager / RI to support the owner of a Children s Residential Operation in Swindon Wiltshire.
The Organisation has 2 Ofsted Regulated provisions: 1 x 2 bed and 1 x solo unit, together with a Supported Accommodation service (currently CQC service), along with a highly skilled and developed staff team with further homes pending launch in the immediate future.
The successful candidate will have overall management responsibility for residential children s homes, including responsible individual duties.
You will be instrumental to the Leadership Team and will play a key lead role in the expansion of the company, ensuring all homes are fully staffed and beds are taken.
Salary up to £60k, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Main Responsibilities of Operations Manager / RI To be the Ofsted registered Responsible Individual for designated services and act on behalf of the organisation to ensure that they meet relevant requirements set out in legislation.
Provide highly effective leadership across the residential children s homes.
Manage and implement change to help grow the business.
Display good commercial acumen to develop and produce operationally viable and cost-effective solutions to business development opportunities.
A strong commitment to safeguarding, including Health & Safety, children, young people, families, and staff in all services.
Implement quality assurance practices to monitor and evaluate standards of individual and team performance.
Be responsible for reporting regularly on each designated residential Home to ensure compliance with the Statement of Purpose and company policies.
Ensure full compliance with all external regulatory bodies.
Provide regular formal and informal supervision and management of senior managers.
Provide effective leadership, management support, and guidance to operational Registered Managers.
Contribute to projects and initiatives associated with service delivery.
Ensure that service needs are met through strong communication and participation.
Rapid improvement of quality within assigned homes with sustainability planning for the long term.
Prepare detailed reports for Statutory and Case Reviews to a consistently high standard.
Participate in meetings and training events as required by Directors.
Knowledge / Education / Skills required of Operations Manager / RI A sound working knowledge of the statutory requirements associated with the residential care of young people.
This includes Children s Homes Regulations, Residential Family Centres, Health and Safety legislation, etc.
The role holder must have completed the full registration process and been declared fit by Ofsted for each assignment to a home.
Proven people management skills within a residential setting.
Able to implement approaches to simplify complex processes and make efficiencies and savings.
Proven organisational and financial management skills.
Health and Social Care Management qualifications.
Experienced in sales, marketing, and business management.
Experience required of Operations Manager / RI Significant experience in a leadership role in a multi-site organisation.
Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives.
Well-established stakeholder relationships with a proven track record in running successful children s residential care services.
Substantial recent experience in business partnership and relationship management skills.
A strong background in successful residential children s home management, preferably with knowledge of Ofsted requirements.
Turnaround experience in children s homes and a successful problem solver.
Achieved Good or Outstanding judgements in previous settings under your leadership.
