Paediatric Therapist - OT or Play Therapist (New Grads Considered) This is the job you've been waiting for! Star OT for Kids are seeking a passionate and fun full or part time Therapist to join our team.
Experienced therapists and new graduates are encouraged to apply.
We work with children and families, mostly addressing issues with sensory processing, emotional regulation, behaviour and developmental delay.
Experience in trauma informed and neuroaffirming therapy is preferable but not essential.
You will provide specialised support to children who have experienced trauma, ASD, ADHD and developmental delays.
You may also assist clients in achieving goals relating to self care, motor skills, social skills and executive functioning.
We have a small team of experienced OTs and play therapists, and are based in a lovely bright clinic space full of fun resources.
We also offer: Clinical supervision The opportunity to set your preferred working hours Job responsibilities include: Manage a caseload of children with trauma or neurodevelopmental disorders.
Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the impact of trauma or neurodiversity on the child.
Report writing may be required.
Develop individualised treatment plans and interventions focusing on promoting the child's physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being.
Provide direct therapeutic interventions to children using evidence-based techniques, adapting interventions to meet the unique needs of each child.
Collaborate with the child's interdisciplinary team to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to care.
Educate and guide parents, caregivers, and teachers on trauma-informed, sensory based and emotional regulation strategies and techniques to facilitate optimal functioning in various environments.
Monitor and document the child's progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and advocating for additional resources or referrals when needed.
Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in trauma-informed care, integrating new knowledge into clinical practice.
Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Play Therapy or Social Work from an accredited program.
Valid license/registration to practice.
Specialised training or certification in trauma-informed care is highly desirable but not essential.

Experience working with NDIS participants is a bonus.
Key selection criteria: Proven experience in assessing and treating children who have developmental delay, experienced trauma, sensory processing, behavioural and/or emotional regulation issues.
Strong knowledge of child development and the impact of trauma or neurodivergence on children.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the child, family members, and the interdisciplinary team.
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating good flexibility and time management skills.
