The Paediatrician at Healthy Kids at Play assumes a pivotal position in delivering comprehensive care to paediatric and adolescent clients.
With a primary focus on conducting developmental and behavioural assessments, providing accurate diagnoses, and formulating effective management plans, the Paediatrician is instrumental in guiding the healthcare journey of our clients.
This role necessitates collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, where the Paediatrician synergises efforts with allied health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care, addressing the diverse needs of each individual.

Key Responsibilities 1.
Conduct Developmental and Behavioural Assessments: • Perform thorough assessments to evaluate the developmental and behavioural aspects of paediatric and adolescent clients.
• Utilise standardised assessment tools and techniques to gather comprehensive data.

Provide Accurate Diagnoses: • Analyse assessment findings to formulate accurate diagnoses of conditions such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), and common mental health conditions.
• Ensure diagnoses align with current diagnostic criteria and evidence-based practices.

Develop Effective Management Plans: • Collaborate with clients, families, and allied health professionals to develop individualised management plans tailored to the unique needs of each client.
• Incorporate evidence-based interventions and strategies into management plans to optimise client outcomes.

Collaborate within a Multidisciplinary Team: • Engage in regular communication and collaboration with allied health professionals, including occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and psychologists, to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and case conferences to discuss client progress and treatment planning.

Provide Clinical Feedback and Support: • Offer clear and empathetic feedback to clients and their families regarding assessment results, diagnoses, and management plans.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients and their families throughout the treatment process.

Stay Updated on Research and Best Practices: • Stay informed about the latest research, trends, and best practices in paediatric medicine, developmental psychology, and related fields.
• Attend conferences, workshops, and continuing education courses to maintain professional knowledge and skills.

Contribute to Service Development: • Collaborate with leadership and colleagues to identify opportunities for service development and improvement.
• Contribute ideas and insights to enhance the quality and effectiveness of paediatric services at Healthy Kids at Play.
Selection criteria 1.
Clinical Expertise: • Demonstrated proficiency in conducting developmental and behavioural assessments and providing accurate diagnoses.
• Experience working with paediatric and adolescent clients across a range of developmental and mental health conditions.
2.
Qualifications and Registration: • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent qualification in paediatrics.
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Paediatrician.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including allied health professionals, to deliver coordinated care.

Communication Skills: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and compassionately to clients and their families.
