Our client is a large globally recognised organisation. They are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Officer to join their team in Melbourne CBD. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and engaging workplace culture. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring smooth payroll operations and will also be responsible for various HR administrative tasks. This role would be suitable for a junior looking to develop, or a senior looking for future management opportunities. What you'll do: As a Payroll Officer, your primary role will be to actively participate in providing smooth payroll operations. You will be responsible for processing end-to-end payroll on a fortnightly basis while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Your excellent customer service skills will be utilised as you handle queries from employees regarding their payroll matters. You will also collaborate closely with the HR and finance departments to support payroll-related processes and projects.Provide excellent customer service to all employees who have queries or requests relating to their payroll matters.Process end-to-end payroll for employees on a fortnightly basis with team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or benefits.Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee benefits, deductions, and reimbursements.Stay current with changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.Collaborate with HR and finance department to support payroll-related processes and projects. What you bring: The ideal candidate for this Payroll Officer role brings along hands-on experience of at least 2-3 years in Payroll. Experience within the retail, health care or high volume industry would be advantageous. You possess strong knowledge of awards, employment agreements, Fair Work legislation, as well as proficiency in using large Payroll softwares. Your excellent interpersonal skills enable you to communicate effectively with employees at all levels. With your high level of attention to detail, you ensure accuracy in all tasks. Your expert Excel skills will be put to good use in this role.Proven experience in an end-to-end payroll position for at least one year.Experience with large Payroll software and Time and Attendance systems.Strong knowledge of awards, employment agreements, and Fair Work legislation.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with employees at all levels and work well within a team.Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.High level of attention to detail.Expert Excel skills - more than just the basics required.Enthusiastic and professional approach.
