This role focuses on leading the market interactions and market activities of ACCIONA's Australia generation portfolio, including interactions across various functional areas of the business.
Job Description Portfolio Lead and SME: Lead daily spot market activities, collaborating with the Operations Department and Control Room.
Develop and enhance operational functions, guiding and mentoring the Physical Markets team.
Set and report on annual portfolio objectives.
Market Operations: Manage the market interface for ACCIONA Energia's generation portfolio, optimising merchant revenue.
Serve as the key contact between site staff, Operations Department, the Australian Control Room, and operational staff in Spain.
Integrate operational activities, including windfarm scheduling and market oversight.
Establish and review bidding strategies, dispatch protocols, and risk management practices.
Report on market performance and ensure compliance with market rules and regulations.
Monitor market conditions, including wholesale prices and FCAS.
Market Analysis: Communicate and report on market conditions to senior management.
Inform long-term hedging strategies and review portfolio strategies.
Required Skills and Competencies Experience in the National Electricity Market, especially in market operations and short-term trading.
Tertiary qualifications in commerce, economics, finance, or engineering preferred.
Demonstrated commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
Ability to be a subject matter expert and use your knowledge to enhance the team's capabilities Strong analytical and communication skills.
