About the department The position is based within Austin Health's Physiotherapy Department which forms part of the Division of Allied Health.
The Physiotherapy Department comprises about 112 EFT staff at the Austin Hospital, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital and the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre.
It provides seven days per week patient clinical services and is a major clinical school for the University of Melbourne and partners with Swinburne University of Technology to provide clinical placements for graduate entry students.
Research and quality and safety are major priorities of the department.
About the role Working in a clinical area that requires high levels of specialist knowledge.
Clinical supervision of Grade 1 and Grade 2 employees.
Management of Quality Improvement.
Acting on expert advisory committees.
Providing specialist advice to either employees or staff in their profession.
Duties are mostly within the clinical area of expertise may be described as a senior clinician.
About you Current registration with AHPRA and eligible for membership of relevant professional association.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant clinical experience.
Extensive clinical experience in the specialist area of acute and sub-acute Gerontology.
Demonstrated expertise in teaching, training and education.
Demonstrated ability to undertake professional supervision and promote professional competence of other staff, which also incorporates a history of team leadership.
Demonstrated research and/or quality improvement project work.
High level interpersonal skills that promote teamwork and proven ability to relate to people at all levels within an organization.
High level of organisational and prioritisation skills to finish work within scheduled hours and lead other staff to meet this expectation.
Demonstrated leadership/management approach to change and the ability to engage and influence staff.
High level verbal and written skills.
