Board Appointments (CEO & General Management) Bellarine Bayside Foreshore Committee of Management (Bellarine Bayside) is a not-for-profit organisation established by the Victorian Government to manage coastal Crown land reserves between Point Richards and St Leonards on Victoria's Northern Bellarine Peninsula, encompassing the townships of Portarlington, Indented Head and St Leonards.
Bellarine Bayside is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced Planning & Environment Manager.
The role takes the lead responsibility for planning and the effective future management of the foreshore reserves' environmental and cultural values in line with relevant legislation, building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders.
Reporting to the CEO and as part of the Senior Management Team, key responsibilities of this position include: Provide proactive leadership by driving, and contributing to, decision making processes of the Senior Management Team and the CEO in relation to organizational strategy and change management.
Lead, manage and empower a team of motivated and passionate individuals.
Provide written reports and advice to the CEO and Committee of Management regarding relevant State and Federal Government policy and legislation, strategic and commercial issues.
Lead the development and implementation of key strategic plans including the Coastal and Marine Management Plan, Sustainability Plan and Risk Management Plan and Register.
Build strong relationships and partnerships with Wadawurrung Traditional Owner Aboriginal Corporation and first nations peoples to advance their country plan aspirations.
Lead the development and negotiation of all Crown land leases, licenses and permits.
Oversee coordination of the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of environmental management activities and the development and delivery of the education and volunteer program.
Develop and manage annual budgets in an effective and efficient manner.
Ensure programs and projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with deliverables.
Engage with key stakeholders and community to develop and maintain effective relationships and partnerships.
To be successful in this position you will have (key selection criteria): Demonstrated experience in a leadership role delivering successful outcomes.
Demonstrated experience in management planning, coastal planning, policy and strategic planning.
Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of planning and environmental programs on Crown land and/or marine reserves using a range of contemporary practices.
Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and programs.
High level written and verbal communication skills including experience in preparing strategic reports, presentations, grant applications, project briefs and budgets.
Proven ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels including state and local government, first nations people and community.
Qualifications in Planning, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
Hold a current Australian driver's licence.

Whilst the role will be predominantly based at the offices located in Portarlington, there is scope for the option of a hybrid working arrangement for the right candidate.
