Our client is seeking a Power Development Manager to lead the development of new renewable energy projects from conception through to execution.
This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that contribute to Australia's decarbonisation goals.
You will be responsible for overseeing project development, managing stakeholder engagement, and ensuring that all initiatives align with the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end development of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage.
Manage project feasibility studies, including site identification, resource assessment, and environmental impact analysis.
Oversee planning and permitting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and financial models to ensure the economic viability of projects.
Engage with stakeholders, including landowners, local communities, regulators, and other key partners.
Negotiate land agreements, grid connections, and offtake arrangements to support project development.
Coordinate with technical teams to optimise project design and performance.
Manage tendering processes for key project components and secure agreements with suppliers and contractors.
Monitor project progress and identify risks, implementing mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
Prepare detailed project reports and presentations for senior management and investors.
Support the development of business cases for new project opportunities and expansions.
Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, finance, and engineering, to drive project delivery.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.
Contribute to the company's broader energy strategy by identifying new opportunities in the renewable sector.
Ensure all projects adhere to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in renewable energy project development, ideally within the Australian market.
Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale wind, solar, or storage projects.
Strong understanding of Australian energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and planning processes.
Experience managing project budgets, financial models, and feasibility assessments.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Effective leadership and team management experience.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
High level of commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
