The Victorian Government established the Labour Hire Authority (LHA) to introduce a licensing system to regulate the provision of labour hire services across Victoria.
LHA undertakes a range of licensing, compliance and enforcement activities, maintains public registers and conducts research and education in accordance with the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 (Vic) (Act).
About the role The role sits within LHA's Intelligence, Compliance and Enforcement Division.
The Division promotes, monitors, investigates and enforces compliance with the Labour Hire Licensing Act and a broad range of relevant laws by labour hire licence applicants, license holders, unlicensed providers and hosts, both proactively and in response to complaints and intelligence that we receive from the public and other regulators.
Reporting to the Manager, Intelligence, Compliance and Enforcement in the Division, the Principal Compliance Officer (PCO) will lead a small team to execute LHA's Compliance Program, with a focus on high-risk industries and harms.
The PCO will: Develop and/or lead the execution of elements of LHA's Compliance Program.
Lead complex investigations into non-compliance with the LHL Act, including legal obligations under workplace, taxation, superannuation and health and safety laws.
Provide expert advice, guidance and direction to compliance officers conducting investigations and support them to gather evidence, draft reports and make sound recommendations in relation to licensing decisions or enforcement action that are consistent with LHA's strategic objectives.
Lead small teams to conduct field inspections and operations.
Engage with a variety of stakeholders to educate and influence compliance.
This role has a flexible work location with an option of Melbourne CBD or Bendigo.
