We are looking for Melbourne's top Principal Engineer! This is a flagship role in a top tech company.
This role gives you the ability to influence, define product roadmaps, improve coding standards and best practice.
This role will give you the opportunity to oversee a group of engineers, although no direct reports.
The role is fairly hands off.
Work closely with the Architecture teams, you'll be the bridge between Engineering and Architecture teams.
Responsibilities: Technical Leadership Provide technical leadership in terms of design and adoption of solution architectures, coding expertise, governance best practices and subject matter expertise.
Break complex problems into essential parts, drawing logical conclusions based on the evidence and data, clearly articulating the process and reasoning to upskill others.
Technical Standards Establish and champion software engineering best practices.
Work with development teams to design and implement best practices for our new and existing platforms.
Own technology & tooling for effective and innovative product development.
Delivery Analyze business requirements directly with business users to construct and document appropriate solution options.
Understand the long-term implications of technical decisions and can prioritize initiatives accordingly to drive organizational success.
Mentor development teams on technical analysis, design and implementation.
Ensure development teams are adhering to software development best practices.
Deliver stable, scalable and highly available software solutions to timelines.
Experience Required: 10+ years experience in software development (Java and/or.
NET). 10+ years developing and supporting scalable, maintainable, and performance-critical software.
10+ years in multiple technical domains with a demonstrated ability to influence design and delivery of complex technical solutions.
5+ years of AWS experience.
Any experience in Event Driven Architecture would be a plus.
Strong stakeholder management abilities (influence & execute).
Must be MELBOURNE based with FULL WORKING RIGHTS.
Melbourne based hybrid role, with some days in the office per week.
Salary: Up to $210,000 + Bonus (15%+) Lots of additional incentives like wellness days, extra leave, GREAT maternity and paternity policies.
