The Victorian Government established the Labour Hire Authority (LHA) to introduce a licensing system to regulate the provision of labour hire services across Victoria.
LHA undertakes a range of licensing, compliance and enforcement activities, maintains public registers and conducts research and education in accordance with the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 (Vic) (Act).
About the role The LHA's Legal Branch plays a key role in providing expert legal services to LHA and its operational units covering a broad range of legal matters relating to the Act and other relevant laws with an emphasis on employment law and industrial relations.
Reporting to the Managing Principal Lawyer, the Principal Lawyer is responsible for providing legal advice and support with a focus on licensing, compliance, and enforcement activities.
This role has a flexible work location with an option of Melbourne CBD or Bendigo.
About you Demonstrated knowledge of industrial relations and/or administrative law with proven experience in providing timely, sound, practical legal advice, and guidance on a wide variety of issues.
Enthusiastic individual who is passionate about improving workers' conditions.
Effective communicator and listener with the ability to build and maintain good relationships with our stakeholders.
