We are currently looking for a Principal Planner to join our Statutory and Strategic Planning team.
Key Responsibilities Lead projects as the main contact for the project team from implementation to delivery.
Lead on development of proposals.
Develop and strengthen existing client relationships and maintain a client base to secure ongoing projects.
Generate new opportunities and relationships with prospective clients; development of strategies and initiatives to further grow the business.
Preparation of reports to and attendance at Tribunal and Planning Panels.
Preparation of reports, written advice, and correspondence on statutory and strategic planning projects for the Director of Planning.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to junior members of the team.
Keep up to date with legislation and regulations relevant to the role.
Develop and implement initiatives to improve Voice of the Customer survey score.
Key Competencies and Experience Tertiary qualification in Planning, Urban Planning, or similar.
10+ years' relevant experience in statutory or strategic planning and application of the Victorian Planning Provisions, ideally in a local government or consultancy environment.
Demonstrated experience managing project deliverables to completion, within budget and timeframe, and to a high standard.
Skills and Behaviours Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; able to produce high quality reports as well as communicate confidently with a variety of clients and stakeholders.
Exceptional organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and ability to work methodically and thoroughly.
Well developed customer service capabilities with the ability to develop and nurture stakeholder relationships at all levels.
Adaptability and a growth oriented mindset, with a willingness to learn and improve expertise.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Self-motivated with a desire to achieve high standards.
Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
Established client network and contacts.
