Principal Statutory Planner

As a result of an internal promotion and upcoming parental leave, the Statutory Planning Team currently have three Principal Planner roles to fill.
Two of the positions are permanent full-time and one is a twelve month contract from the end of December 2024 until January 2026.
As a Principal Planner in the Statutory Planning Team, you will be required to provide specialist advice, project manage and process major planning permit applications.
We are seeking a leader who will mentor and develop the Statutory Planning team, someone who has a strong business improvement focus with the ability to negotiate quality planning outcomes for our Shire.
About the successful candidate The successful applicant will hold relevant qualifications and have demonstrated experience in a similar role, working on a diverse range of complex planning applications, representing Council at VCAT, experience in developing a team and having a strong 'can do' attitude.
These roles are an ideal opportunity for an experienced Senior Planner and Principal Planner looking to take the next step in their career.
For the twelve-month contract, it is an opportunity for a short-term secondment from your current position to a Principal Planner level.
We are willing to negotiate arrangements for such a secondment with your current employer.
