Program Director – Central Drive transformative infrastructure programs by supporting the Victorian's Big Build program.
Purpose We are seeking a capable professional to lead V/Line's role in significant infrastructure programs, focusing on Victoria's biggest rail infrastructure commitments.
The Program Director – Central will oversee a portfolio of key projects delivering major transport infrastructure improvements on the V/Line network.
This role requires a strong presence to engage stakeholders and provide expert advice.
Experience in rail and alliance contracts is highly desirable.
Focus Lead multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safety, time, cost, and quality outcomes.
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the project teams.
Offer expert advice on technical integration and risk management.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders.
Manage interfaces with delivery partners and government agencies.
Scope Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and organisational policies.
Collaborate with government agencies to achieve project benefits.
Monitor assurance activities and assess and implement risk management.
Address legal, political, environmental, and commercial risks.
Ensure design input and system assurance align with project and safety requirements.
Execute governance to manage financial, reputational, and delivery risks.
Represent V/Line on committees and governance forums.
Prioritise safety and implement best practices in design and delivery.
Profile The following credentials are highly regarded: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business, Construction, or related fields.
Formal Project Management qualifications (or ability to obtain).
Your knowledge, skills, and experience: Extensive experience leading complex programs in rail environment.
Proven history leading multi-disciplinary teams to achieve business outcomes.
Knowledge of relevant policies and legislation in rail or similar.
Ability to translate technical information clearly for diverse audiences.
Your personal attributes: Exceptional leadership in managing complex infrastructure projects.
Ability to build strong relationships and align stakeholders, with strong interpersonal, consultation, and negotiation skills.
Strategic problem-solving and risk management skills.
Continuous improvement mindset.
